Why Do Most Palmyra Families Need a Second Car?
Palmyra sits right on Route 422 between Hershey and Lebanon - a small borough where most families own at least two vehicles, because public transit does not reach here. The town's proximity to Hershey also makes it a popular spot for medical center commuters who want lower housing costs without a long drive. Add a teenage driver, a second job, or a spouse commuting the opposite direction, and one car in the driveway stops being enough fairly quickly.
What If the Car We Need Isn't on Any Lot Nearby?
A second vehicle usually has a narrower job than the family's main car - a fuel-efficient commuter sedan, a small SUV for a new driver, or a specific older model because that is what the budget allows this year. If that exact vehicle is not sitting on a lot in Palmyra, Hershey, or Lebanon when you need it, Hunt Auto Group's auction buying service can go find it instead of you waiting for the right one to show up.
Through our licensed dealer partner's auction access, we search dealer-only auctions for any model year 2000 or newer. You tell us the year, make, model, and must-haves; we search, confirm the match with you, then buy and deliver it.
How Close Is Hunt Auto Group to Palmyra?
About 10 miles and a 12-minute drive on Route 422 - close enough that a Palmyra family can confirm a vehicle match during a lunch break and still make it home for dinner. That short distance also keeps delivery simple: delivery within the Lebanon area, which includes Palmyra, is included in the $699 service fee.
What Does the Auction Buying Service Cost for a Second Vehicle?
You pay the actual auction price, standard auction fees, and a flat $699 service fee - the same structure whether this is a family's first car or third. Dealer markups typically add $2,000 to $5,000 over auction price, so for a second vehicle on a tight budget, that difference matters. Financing is available for all credit situations, and our team is bilingual. Reach us at (717) 673-1484 or info@huntautogroup.com.
How Long Does It Take to Get the Car Home?
Typically 1 to 3 weeks. Common vehicles - the kind most families want for a second car, like a compact sedan or small SUV - tend to show up at auction regularly, while a rarer spec can take longer. You never put money into an auction account yourself; we purchase with our own account once you approve the vehicle and price.
Is This Different From Just Buying Off Our Lot?
Yes. Our lot inventory is what we already own and have ready to drive today. The auction buying service is for when the specific vehicle you want is not currently in that inventory. Vehicles found this way are sold as-is under Pennsylvania law (13 Pa.C.S. § 2316) - no warranty included - so we recommend a pre-purchase inspection once a match is found, the same way we would for any auction-sourced vehicle.
